BERWICK Youth Choir will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a gala concert in the Rosanove Auditorium at St Margaret’s School, Berwick, on Saturday, 19 August.
Special guests on the night will be soprano ShuCheen Yu and the Da Capo Singers.
The concert will culminate in a thrilling massed choir performance featuring many former choristers and music staff.
Excitement is running high as the choristers perfect their performances at rehearsals.
Everyone associated with the choir is thrilled to be taking part in this special event as the group celebrates 20 years of excellence in choral performance and music education.
This all began in 1986 when noted musician and teacher Jean Heriot had a vision to provide the children of the City of Berwick, now City of Casey, with a highquality music education.
Mrs Heriot wanted to instil in them a love of singing and to share with them Kodaly’s principles of music by introducing them to only the finest choral music.
Twenty years on, the faces have changed, but the same love of music, excellence in performance, and service to the community is still very much in evidence.
Tickets are available from choir administrator Janie Webb on 0417 931 897.
