Cooper butts in for Bulls

MARK Cooper again produced a fine spell of bowling to assist Cardinia Agrade’s team to its second victory of the season.
Cooper snared 4/59 against Merinda Park and he and fellow Bulls’ spinner Dwayne Doig again formed a formidable bowling partnership with the latter taking 3/63 from 23 tight and probing overs.
John Grogan again bowled with fire, taking 1/36 and parttime bowlers John Nooy and Jamie Glen both took a wicket to close the Cobras’ innings at 214.
Cardinia won by 77 runs and will face AGrade newcomers Kooweerup this week.

B GRADE

Cardinia won its second match this week against Merinda Park at the E. Gunton Reserve in Cardinia.
Chasing 106 the Bulls were asked by captain Matt Adlam to keep their heads down and get the required runs.
Stuart Williams did just that as he compiled 50 in the Bulls’ eventual total of 190.
Ricky Campbell smashed 44 in the latter half of the innings and smaller contributions came from the rest of the side as only three batsmen failed to reach double figures.

D GRADE

Chasing Beaconsfield ’s 151, the Bulls were 1/26.
Peter Wilson added 15 to his last week’s total before he was out for 29.
The Bulls were in a good position at 3/56 when Darren Aurisch joined Ricky Delphine and they shared a 183run partnership that included 26 boundaries and just one six.
The Bulls pressed on and both players recorded halfcenturies. Delphine was out for 70 and Aurisch went on to score 136 in just 24 overs.
Newcomer Daniel Cairns blasted 32 not out in the Bulls’ total.
Captain Matthew Argoon was unsure whether to declare or not and decided to bat out the day, the Bulls being rolled for 336.

E GRADE

Cardinia went to Kooweerup after it had already claimed firstinnings points last week.
The Bulls continued their innings and finished with 216. Gary Quinlan redeemed himself to make 25 and Chris Lemmon made a solid 17 notout.
Having another bowl, Lemmon and Wayne Snooks tore through the Demons, taking nine wickets between them.
Lemmon took 5/24 and Snooks 4/24. Kooweerup was all out for 129.
With just 48 needed for outright victory, Brad Remy proceeded to decimate the opposition making 38 notout in just five overs. Rob Baumgartner made nine notout in the Bulls’ ninewicket win.

UNDER 17

Chasing Nyora’s 98, Cardinia surpassed the total with ease with Ricky Campbell (55) smashing the winning runs with a huge six – the same shot that also brought up his retirement.
Dylan Mitchell made an excellent 51 and Jack Cole again impressed with an excellent compilation of 43.
The Bulls made 184 off their allotted overs and completed their second victory for the season.

UNDER 15

Cardinia won an exciting match against Pakenham UpperToomuc on Saturday by nine runs.
The Bulls tore through the Yabbies’ top order to have them 6/5, but an excellent 31 from Ruth Bardwell steadied the ship for PUT.
Unfortunately for the Yabbies they could not get past the Bulls in a very exciting match. Jason Fisher took 2/7, Bradey Welsh 3/15 and Brother Travis 2/7.
