Hit scheme for beginners

CASEY Hockey Club is gearing up for another season and will be running the popular Hook in2 Hockey program for beginners. Anyone who has never played field hockey, or who has had limited experience, is invited to come along and try one of the sports that will be a highlight of the Commonwealth Games.
For a cost of $40, participants will not only be taught the basic skills of hockey but will receive a hockey stick and ball, shin guards and a Hook in2 Hockey showbag.
“This is a great introduction to the sport,” said Kevin Moore, the Hook in2 Hockey coaching coordinator at Casey. “Juniors and adults can try out hockey. Then, if they wish, they can sign up to play in one of our teams in 2006.
The club starts training seriously in March and the season begins in April. Sessions will be held Friday nights beginning 17 February, then 24 February and 3 March 6.30-9pm. Casey’s field is at Berwick Secondary College, Manuka Road, Berwick.
To register, or to find out more information, phone Lyn on 5942 7388. Registering as soon as possible will help ensure participants receive their hockey packs promptly.
