ROC piles up wins

ROC Netball Club had a top finish to its season with all teams recording wins against Devon Meadows on Saturday.

A GRADE

ROC failed to lift its intensity throughout the game and went to each break with only a threegoal lead.
In the last quarter however the side was able to break a few centres and came away with a sixgoal win.
Boons Rose Grower award went to Laura Quinn for her tight defence throughout the game.
Scores: ROC 53 d Devon Meadows 47.

B GRADE

A great hardfought win for ROC with excellent team play from all players.
There was accurate goaling from Davia O’Hehir, Katie Shores and great teamwork and passing from Mel Harding, Bec Rutter and Sheree Smith.
Tammy Hinds, Lisa Stephens and Natali Van Deelen were tireless in defence.
Croftminster award went to Katie Shores and Natali Van Deelen received the happy hour award.
Scores: ROC 47 d Devon Meadows 38.

C GRADE

A great way to finish the season for ROC, with all players putting in their all for the final game.
Lauren Macreadie received the award for her intensity and drive throughout the game.
Scores: ROC 40 d Devon Meadows 21.

17 AND UNDER

A good solid game from the whole ROC team, with steady passing, good positioning and great goaling.
Tight defence kept Devon Meadows’ score down and the midcourt delivered the ball well to the goalers who finished great passages of play perfectly.
Alyce Mason received the E/T award for a great defensive game in GK.
Scores: ROC 38 d Devon Meadows 22.

15 AND UNDER

A great game from the team capped off the season perfectly. An excellent team effort set up the win with all players giving their all.
Elise Macreadie and Laura Steedman received the E/T awards for their great individual efforts.
Scores: ROC 23 d Devon Meadows 15.

13 AND UNDER

ROC played an excellent game, with a changed lineup. Great game by Niccole Smith in defence who was helped out by Lauren Mynott.
The goalers worked well against a taller opposition, while midcourt stayed strong throughout the whole game, continually going hard for the ball.
Coaches’ award went to Zoe Gilbert.
