Seniors pay tribute

ABOUT 100 Pakenham Seniors members enjoyed a soup and sandwich lunch last Wednesday.
The president opened Monday’s meeting by asking all members to join him in one minute’s silence in respect of all those who lost their lives in the war in the Pacific. The club also paid tribute to all members present who served there.
Celebrating birthdays are Hazel Ryall, Eve Conroy, Edna Smith, Joan Bretherton and Gerard Jansen.
Members who are sick are Ron Dyker, Len Horniblow and Betty Mills. Kath Boxall is still in hospital. Members returning are Enid Boyden and Doreen McDonald. New members are Ted and Elisabeth Algra. Coming events: trip to the casino Wednesday, 14 September. Names to be put on list; Cliché Clothing will visit the club in November, so start saving now.
Little Tatts winners were Janet Macreadie, Daphne Wright, Shirley Stewart and Jan Fenton.
Door prize winners were Gladys Manning and Jan Fenton. The raffle was won by Joyce Porter.
Attendance was 116 members.
