CARDINIA’S population is set to boom.
The latest forecast for the Cardinia Shire is that the population will top 62,088 in 2007. That’s up from 59,591 in 2006.
Most of the population growth is forecast to occur in the growth corridor area around Pakenham, Officer and Beaconsfield.
The growth corridor, although only seven per cent of the geographical area, is expected to increase in population by 200 per cent by 2021.
