Sibley sizzles in hot batting blitz

A STUNNING 200 not out from Luke Sibley against Officer was the highlight for Beaconsfield’s Agrade team on the first day of roundsix on Saturday.
Brad Miles also fired for the Tigers with a century and Geoff Bliss captured five wickets in Bgrade.

Winning the toss and batting against Officer, Beaconsfield was in early trouble with the first three wickets falling at 2, 14 and 40. Brad Miles and Luke Sibley then came together for a 268run partnership.
Miles departed with the score on 308 having reached 127 in fine return to form.
Sibley batted the remainder of the day, reaching 200 notout. Don Kerslake (22) and Ryan O’Connor (16 notout) also provided valuable support. Beaconsfield finished with a total of 5/387 and will look to bowl and field well this week to secure a win against the ladder leaders.

Up against the well placed Upper Beaconsfield, Beaconsfield bowled and fielded well to restrict the visitors to 9/212 from the allotted 70 overs. Best of the bowlers was Geoff Bliss with 5/35 from 15 overs. Troy McDermott and Jarrod Williams both bowled well to return the identical figures of 1/60 from 20 overs.

Playing at home, Beaconsfield won the toss and sent visitors Gembrook in to bat.
Off to a good start with the ball, Beaconsfield captured 2/14 early in the day, but Gembrook batted steadily for the rest of the day to reach 8/237 at the end of play.
Captain Mick McMahon returned the figures of 3/46 and was well supported by Matt O’Connor with 2/32. Wayne Heathcote and Tristan Kerr both chipped in with one wicket each.

Coming up against Nar Nar GoonMaryknoll, Beaconsfield batted all day to reach 9/190 from 70 overs. The standout was Jordy Andrews with 42 runs. The remainder of the runs were shared around with Paul Dorbolo (24), Wayne Holden (10), Rob Young (27), Greg Butler (21), John Scales (30) and Sam Benbow (16) all making valuable contributions.

Travelling to tussle with Gembrook, Beaconsfield batted first and could only reach 77 for its ten wickets. Only John Martin, with 37, offered solid resistance. In reply Gembrook remained at 5/187 at the close of play.
Ben Martin captured 2/24 for Beaconsfield, with Steve Curtis, Jade Osborne and John Martin all taking one wicket.

With a tough assignment against Nyora, Beaconsfield bowled first and saw its opponent reach 220. The bowling highlight was Reece Suttie capturing 4/24. All four wickets came from five consecutive balls and included a hattrick. Rohan Henderson, Bevan Pitcher, Nathan Goodman, Matt Dodd and Jarrod Madden each chipped in with one wicket. In reply Beaconsfield batted well but could only reach 151. Reece Suttie capped off a find day with 35 runs. Rohan Henderson made 29 and Mal Bell (12), Matt Dodd (13), Nathan Boon (12) and James Johnston (10) all got a start.
