STOLEN cars have been found burned out and dumped in bush areas around Pakenham.
At least two cars were stolen and then torched over the past week.
Police said it was too early to tell whether the incidents were linked.
One of the cars was found in Syme Road, Pakenham, on Sunday morning.
Police are also investigating a number of incidents involving theft from cars.
Pakenham CIU Senior Detective Rhys Holder said several cars had been broken into at shopping centres and in residential areas.
Christmas gifts, including bikes, were among the items stolen, he said.
Police have repeated warnings to residents to ensure their vehicles are kept secure at all times.
Motorists have also been advised not to keep valuables inside their vehicles.
