100 and still racing

WIN Treble turned 100 on Tuesday and has no plans to slow down.
Mrs Treble was surrounded by family and friends for her birthday celebration at the Hillview Hostel in Bunyip.
Many Hillview residents also joined in on the afternoon party to celebrate Mrs Treble’s 100 years.
Hillview staff member Vicky O’Hehir said Mrs Treble has been a resident at Hillview for the past seven years and is a dearly loved member of the closeknit community.
“We had a cruise theme for her party because Win always wanted to go on the QEII,” said Ms O’Hehir.
Party guests were treated to a special sultana birthday cake and heard Win’s family, some of whom had travelled from England, talk fondly of her.
The local choir sang several of Win’s favourite songs and a resident dressed up as the Queen to present a special 100year Hillview telegram on behalf of the hostel.
“She is a very witty lady who loves to reminisce about her past,” said Ms O’Hehir
Mrs Treble was born in Bristol, England, and moved to Australia with her husband, Will, in 1954.
A major highlight for Mrs Treble was when she became a naturalised Australian citizen in 2001.
