PLANS to protect and preserve local heritage have won a $28,000 boost from the State Government.
Gembrook MP Tammy Lobato said the grant would help Cardinia Shire Council undertake stage two of a heritage study and a significant tree study.
“This funding will allow Cardinia Shire Council to gain a better understanding of its local heritage assets and develop conservation plans for the future,” Ms Lobato said.
“This is a critical step towards preserving historically important places in the municipality.
“The residents of Cardinia are extremely proud of the area’s heritage and I am pleased that this funding will assist in determining which sites and trees need protection.”
