Bulls stay on top

TWO Baw Baw Bulls teams, Men’s State League 4 and Under 13 Pennant South, held top position undefeated after round four of the Hockey Victoria season.

MEN’S STATE LEAGUE 4

A close game against homeground partner Casey provided spectators on both sides with exciting entertainment for the Mother’s Day clash. Despite a lowerscoring game, the Bulls’ Ken Farmer continuedto hold top scoring position for the competition.
Scores: Baw Baw 2 d Casey 1.

WOMEN’S STATE LEAGUE 4

In round four Baw Baw continued to build its game with a second win for the season. The return of Kate Brady to Baw Baw has brought immediate goals and she scored two more last week. The arrival of Tara Cann to the club is injecting some great depth and experience for the team.
Scores: Baw Baw 6 d Echo 0.

UNDER 17 PENNANT A

Both Casey and the Bulls had something to prove at Berwick, as neither sides had tasted success. From the outset, the Bulls took control and the East Gippsland boys Luke Bates and Cheyne Hacket led from the front, creating many attacking moves. It was not long until the first powerful shot by Chris Weller found its way past the hapless Casey keeper. Casey replied after repeated attacking moves but the Bulls took control with a second goal that sealed the match.
Scores: Bulls 2 d Casey 1.

UNDER 17 GIRLS A

Baw Baw had a convincing win over Kew Junior at Elgar Park. The Bulls moved the ball fast and accurately and the defence starved Kew of many opportunities. Ella Trevorrow and Cassie Baker will hopefully return soon from injury.
Scores: Baw Baw 3 d Kew Junior 0.

UNDER 13 PENNANT SOUTH

In the first half Jesse Ward managed to score three goals, one from a short corner. Sam Lodge also scored and at halftime the score was 40.
In the second half goals kept coming from great teamwork, Michael Kramer, Keshia Leggett, Stuart Rayner and Ward (again) all scoring. Andrew Bloomfield played goalkeeper and, without the great work of the back line, Casey would have scored more goals.
Scores: Baw Baw 9 d Casey 1.

CLUB NOTES

New players are welcome and training is on Tuesdays, at St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School, Warragul. Junior training starts at 5pm and seniors at 7pm.
