CASEY Council wants residents to name its new performing arts rehearsal centre, which is due to be officially opened during the spring.
Casey mayor Kevin Bradford said the council was calling for ideas from the community to name the facility.
He said it would provide a home for performing arts groups and school activities, as well as for amateur and professional performers.
“We are looking for ideas from the community to help name this fantastic venue, which is currently under construction,” Cr Bradford said.
“The winner of the competition will receive a $200 Bunnings voucher.
“When finished, the centre will boast three large rehearsal rooms and four rehearsal rooms suitable for dance, music and theatre.”
The centre is being built at the Casey Indoor Leisure Complex site on BerwickCranbourne Road, Cranbourne, adjoining the skate facility The Shed.
Entry forms can be obtained from the council’s three customer service centres, plus the Cranbourne and Narre Warren libraries, or go online at www.casey.vic.gov.au/arts
Entries close at 5pm on Friday, 26 May.
