Everitt shines in wicket haul

AN outstanding sevenwicket pillage by Gembrook Egrade’s Jeremy Everitt led his team to a strong semifinal win against Tooradin at the weekend and a spot in this week’s grand final.

DAY ONE

Tooradin won the toss and put Gembrook in to bat, with most getting a start but failing to go on.
Gembrook was finally dismissed for 139 in 56 overs.
Better contributors were Marty Williams (39), Darcy Johnstone (25) and Daniel Fry (22).
Gembrook then bowled 11 overs and had Tooradin 2/28.

DAY TWO

This was a great day for the Brookers, bowling Tooradin out for 86 in 37 overs.
Everitt bowled 19 overs, four maidens 7/41.
He was well supported by Mark Costa (2/18) and Jy Berryman (1/24).
The bowlers were helped by sharp fielding and Scott Osseweyer’s wicketkeeping.
Gembrook will play Cardinia in the grand final this week.
