Police renew appeal for missing woman

A GEMBROOK woman missing for almost three years heads a list of people Victoria Police are desperate to find.
Joanne Gaye Deason, born 19 June 1972, left the home she was sharing with her boyfriend on 22 August, 2003. Saying she was going to TAFEclasses, Ms Deason never arrived.
Later that day she was seen at the Knox City Medicare office. Her car was found three weeks later in the Gembrook area. She has not been seen or heard of since.
Police said Ms Deason was 160 centimetres tall and at the time of her disappearance she was of medium build and had light auburn hair, hazel eyes and a fair complexion.
Police are hoping National Missing Persons Week will encourage people to come forward with what could be the vital piece of information in solving the puzzle of Ms Deason’s case.
Deputy Commissioner Simon Overland said that while many people reported missing were located quickly, police held concerns for disappearances that remained unexplained.
“When a family member or friend vanishes from your life it’s the sense of not knowing that can be devastating,” Mr Overland said.
Police are appealing to any person who may have information regarding Ms Deason’s whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
