Preps learn from expo

PAKENHAM Secondary College looked like an emergency zone last week . . . but teachers and students could not have been happier.
A school ground full of police, State Emergency Service, ambulance and Country Fire Authority vehicles would normally send shivers up the spine, but this was for a happier reason.
An expo organised by the college gave prep students from local primary schools a close look at local emergency services.
The annual expo saw ambulance, CFA, SES and police crews running safety activities and explaining their roles to youngsters.
Students from Pakenham Consolidated School, Pakenham Hills Primary School and Nar Nar Goon and Officer Primary Schools enjoyed the chance to learn more about the vital work performed by local emergency services.
Pakenham Secondary College teacher Carolyn Lansdown said the expo was organised by the school’s year 10 Youth Crew class.
Visiting prep students were presented with a certificate and showbag.
