School thieves’ change of heart

THIEVES chose loose change over a computer this week when they broke into a Berwick school.
Haileybury College was burgled around 9am on Sunday when thieves forced open a sliding window in the school’s administration building.
Once inside, the culprits then forced open a locked cupboard and took out a laptop, stored inside a computer bag.
Detective Sergeant Garry Kear of Narre Warren CIU said the thieves then discovered two ice creams buckets full of coins, and discarded the lap top, instead filling the computer carry bag with the loose change. They fled the scene with the money, leaving the computer.
An alarm was activated during the breakin and anyone with any information is asked to contact Narre Warren CIU on 97053111 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
