Yabbies award life member

THE highlight of the Pakenham UpperToomuc Cricket Club postseason awards night was a life membership presented to Ron Milnes in recognition of his service to the Yabbies over many years.
Milnes has performed many tasks including coaching juniors, club junior coordinator, committeeman and captain of many sides including the 199394 Cgrade premiership side.
Awards were presented to the best achievers in all grades.
In A grade the awards went to Darren Warne with a batting average of 33.86 while the bowling trophy went to Jason Wingrove with 20.43. Ben Keane won the captain’s award while Joel Gibson was acknowleged for his magnificent 119 in the final game. Warne also took out the club champion’s award with 550 points.
The batting award in C grade went to Tyson Goldsack with an average of 45.33 while Dave Johnson with 16.0 took the award for best bowling average. Brett Carey was rewarded for being a reliable opening bat in the finals series while Zac Clough won the captain’s award. Tyson Goldsack was the winner of the Cgrade champion trophy.
In D grade Brett Maddocks won the batting average with 16.69 while Paul Ryan took the bowling trophy with 12.62. Ryan Ford was the captain’s award winner while Brett Maddock was the grade champion with 447 points.
In E grade Chris Gunton’s 38.8 was the most impressine batting average while Damien Garth won the bowling trophy 10.03 and was grade champion with 543 points. Ben Jarred won the captain’s award.
In F grade Dave Ryan was consistent with the top batting average of 31.86 while Bob Phillips was still on target with a bowling average of 7.33 and was grade champion with 302 points.
In the women’s side Katie Ashley was the pick of the batsman with an average of 24.38 while Rochelle Baker had a fine season including the best bowling average of 24.21 and took the grade champion’s trophy with 340 points.
Peter Wheeler was recognised for his dedication as net captain, a job he has done for many seasons, and was a popular winner of the best clubperson award.
Carla Price thanked Jason Wingrove for his efforts during the season and the committee for its hard work as well as congratulating John Fleming and his Cgrade team on winning the premiership.
