Chance to tour aquatic centre

RESIDENTS have watched as Cardinia Shire’s new aquatic and recreation centre takes shape in Pakenham.
Now people have a chance to be among the first to explore the new multimillion dollar facility up close.
On Sunday, 11 September, all are invited to book in for a guided tour of the construction site with the project’s architect.
Cr Leonora Cox said construction of the centre was progressing well, with site visitors now able to get a real appreciation of the look and feel of the centre.
“The striking, curved design of the centre has attracted a lot of attention, but from the road it’s hard to appreciate the size and quality of the three pools, gymnasium and program rooms that are taking shape inside,” she said.
“This is an excellent opportunity for residents to get a firsthand look at the many facilities that will be theirs to enjoy when the centre opens early next year.”
To ensure visitor safety on this construction site, tour numbers are strictly limited. Tours will take place every half an hour between 10am and 3.30pm, and visitors should book on 5945 4310 to ensure they do not miss out on a place on a tour.
Sturdy footwear must be worn.
