A $30,000 grant to extend change rooms at Garfield Recreation Reserve headed the list of Cardinia Shire grants to 69 community groups and organisations.
The improvements at Garfield will complement a major redevelopment of the playing surface and other facilities.
Emerald Community House will also receive $30,000 to remodel and extend its premises, while the Lang Lang tennis club won a $25,000 allocation to resurface four courts.
The grants were welcomed by community members when they were presented by mayor Garry Runge and councillors at a gala function in Pakenham on Friday.
Other big winners were Beaconsfield Tennis Club, which received $15,275 to resurface tennis courts, Pakenham Kindergarten, which received $19,393 for extensions, and Lang Lang Pastoral Agricultural and Horticultural Society, which received $11,668 to asphalt the driveway and entrance to its showgrounds.
