Dance talent goes on show

STUDENTS from the CathyLea Academy of performing arts will entertain on the food court stage from 2pm to 3pm on Sunday 25 February.
Patrons will see a range of dance items including traditional ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and street dance.
The program will also feature singing and instrumental students from the academy’s music school.
This academy boasts an outstanding teaching faculty including many highly qualified teachers, professional performers and choreographers.
Principal Cathy Howell recently completed her Masters degree in education and holds qualifications with several dance associations, including the internationally recognised Cecchetti Ballet Association and the Southern Federation of Dance.
Students from the academy have met with considerable success.
Ballet student Tahlia Lewis was selected as a Cecchetti scholar for 2007 and Jacob Sellenger gained a place in the Australian Ballet School’s Junior Associates program.
Andrew Kinsey has gained a role in a rock musical production of Romeo and Juliet to go on tour in Europe this year.
CathyLea caters for students aged three to adult and includes an extensive boys’ program and classes for people with disabilities.
