THE City of Casey wants girls aged 12 to 17 to join a new junior girls cricket competition.
Cricket Victoria will operate the competition in conjunction with Casey and City of Greater Dandenong.
It will be based on the successful 20/20 limited overs cricket style and is suitable for girls who have never played cricket.
Casey arts and leisure manager Robyn Bowen said cricket was an exciting, noncontact sport.
She said the competition would enable players with little or no experience to learn the rules, improve handeye coordination, get fit and make new friends. Participants will spend four weeks developing skills and learning the rules and the competition will start in November with games played on Mondays from 5.30pm7.30pm.
More information is available from competition manager Dawn Wilcock on 9769 7218.
