CARDINIA mayor Kate Lempriere is one of two nominations for Municipal Association Victoria (MAV) president.
Cr Lempriere will challenge incumbent president Port Phillip City councillor Dick Gross.
The MAV president is a position elected by the 79 MAV representatives who comprise State Council.
Only councillors who have been formally appointed to the role of MAV Representative by their council can nominate as a candidate for the presidency.
The election will be conducted by postal ballot and results will be available after 4pm on Friday 23 February. The term of office is two years.
