Liberal candidates pound the pavement

LIBERAL candidate for Gembrook Simon Wildes has raised a petition to lobby for funding for an upgrade of Clyde Road between Princes Highway and Kangan Drive, Berwick.
Mr Wildes said the piece of road was a major bottleneck that wasted the time and money of residents.
He said roads had been on the top of the City of Casey’s priority for major infrastructure works for three years.
Liberal candidate for Narre Warren North, Edrington Ward councillor Mick Morland, joined Mr Wildes with other Liberal Party candidates to collect 1000 signatures on the first day of the petition. Mr Wildes said the Bracks Government had done nothing to upgrade the road.
“We as a community need to raise the heat on the members of parliament for Gembrook, Narre Warren North, and Narre Warren South to force Mr Bracks into action.”
Mr Wildes said the response to the petition had been outstanding.
“We had drivers pulling over to sign the petition,” he said.
He said they would be in Enterprise Avenue, Berwick on Saturday 17 December to collect more signatures.
