Meeting for the ages

The City of Casey’s Ageing Positively Reference Group has held its first meeting.
Group chairperson, Brechin Ward councillor Angela Dunleavy, attended the meeting, which was held at the civic centre on Tuesday, 12 July.
Casey’s manager of aged and disability services, Rob Crispin, said the group would provide vital input to the implementation of the Ageing Positively in Casey Plan.
“The group is assisting in the identification of major issues impacting on older residents and feedback will be channelled to the Ageing Positively in Casey Steering Group via two representatives from the reference group,” he said.
“Other functions of the reference group include encouraging and supporting activities and events of the Ageing Positively in Casey Plan, providing knowledge of the target group, giving feedback on the development of ageing positively projects and programs, and acting as ambassadors for ageing positively projects and programs.
“Working groups will be established to work on specific projects.”
