St Patrick’s Parish

OUR PARISH is growing, and will grow dramatically within the next 10 years. It is vital that we be well organised and effectively welcome new parishioners and help them to feel at home and be part of our life.
Accordingly, a neighbour organisation has been put in place. The parish has been divided into 10 neighbourhoods with 10 teams.
Already much good work has been done in the neighbourhoods, with all families who have had their babies baptised in the last two years, have been visited by parishioners from their neighbourhoods. The leadership group of the 10 neighbourhoods is looking for more helpers, as some of the neighbourhoods are light in numbers, to undertake this very important work.
Please contact Father Bernie, Sister Christina, or any of the leaders listed on the noticeboard this weekend.
The building works at St Patrick’s school have made considerable change to the appearance of things, at the front of the school recently. The new toilet block has been completed and in use, and the new car parking in The Avenue is hoped to be ready for use, at the commencement of or early in Term four.
The Knights of the Southern Cross are holding their 2005 Gippsland Dinner, for the Priests Support and Education Fund, on Friday, 14 October at Elizabethan Receptions Warragul $55 per head. Deepest sympathy is extended to the families of John Hynes, Kevin Anstey and Monsignor Bernard O’Regan who passed away recently. (Monsignor O’Regan is the brother of the late Father O’Regan, former Parish Priest of St. Patrick’s, Pakenham).
