Stuart ‘drives’ to Cobram Barooga

PAKENHAM Golf Club’s Stuart Scott will soon be teeing up at Cobram Barooga after his Stableford win on Saturday.

He won a weekend for two courtesy of former Pakenham residents Tony and Anne Wouters who run the Peppercorn Lodge at Barooga.

Stuart came in with 39 points to win the day, with Stojko Kresojevic winning A grade with 37 points on a countback and Paul Walter was the Bgrade winner, also on a countback with 37 points.
The golf shop nearest the pin on the second hole went to Brian Webster with Doug Law taking out the Pakenham Subway fifth.
Danny Collins won the Dante’s Woodfired Pizza eighth hole and Mick McManus took home the Hungry Jack’s award on the 14th hole. The Pakenham Pizza 16th hole went to Barry Williams.
The B.M.R. Autos second shots on the sixth and 12th holes went to Cass Bannister and Mick McManus.
The Elgas longest drives in A and B grade went to Rob Sandiford and Tony Sheehan respectively and the McIntyre Painting Cgrade longest drive was won by Darren Bull.
Down the lines went to Jason McQualter 37, Cass Bannister 37, John Van Hoorn 36, Travis Wheeler, Anthony Lillis, Jeff Paterson, Don Towan, Ron Horne, Bob Yates all 35, Scott Peacock 34, Shane Wilkinson 34, Steve Bloomfield, Mick Boyd, Bob Collins, Paul Hobson, Salvador Hadlos all 33, Gary Bau 32, Russell Hladky 32, Rob Wedlock 32, Brett Hume, Brian Ford, Anthony Colvin, Neil De Silva, Peter Lacey and Rod Cameron all 31.
Raffle winners were Neil Morden and Martyn Farrands.
Next week is Stableford and the following week is the August monthly medal sponsored by the Great Australian Bakehouse, Pakenham.

GOLF COACHING AVAILABLE

Visiting professional Rod Akan is available Sundays and Mondays for lessons at the club.
Rod can help improve swings, as well as other areas of the game at a cost of $35 for half an hour.

MONDAY COMPETITION

Doug Booth was the winner of the morning Stableford competition with 40 points on a countback from Tasi Taito.
Down the lines went to Stuart Hare 39, David Hoare 35 and Angie Peluso 35.
Tasi Taito was the winner of the nearest the pin on the second hole.

WEDNESDAY COMPETITION

Stableford was the competition with Scott Milnes coming in the winner with 39 points on a countback from Ron Horne and Ron Thouliss.
Down the lines were won by Alan Halleur 38, David Horne 38, Mick Boyd 37, Heath Barclay 37, Rex Jobling 37, Andrew Villinger 37, Alex Green 36, Ed Regis 36 and Scott Hooper 36.

LADIES

Last Thursday was president’scaptain’s day with the captain’s team coming in the winners in a close contest.
Captain Jean and president Norma were thanked for the trophies.
Winner of the president’s team was Marg Andrews with 33 points.
Down the lines were won by Marg Blake 29, Joyce Garton 28, Lyn Murray 26 and Norma Robertson 26 on a countback.
The captain’s team saw Kate Linden the leader with 32 points with Libby De Hey 31, Adele Mahony 30, Helen Aurish 28 and Jean Hoare 27 the downtheline winners.
Nearest the pins were won by Shirley Roberts on both the second and 14th holes. Shirley also won the second shot on the 16th.
This week is fourballbestball Par and the following week is the August monthly medal
