Tight fight for Officer

OFFICER and Catani are fighting out a tight Agrade game after day one of round three on Saturday.
Bowling first Officer dismissed Catani for 149 with Kable Dowsett leading the way with a great spell of 4/28 off 16 overs.
Shaun Marchetti took 1/64 off 15 overs and Daniel Savage again bowled well with 3/29 off 12 overs.
Andrew Tucker with 1/21 off 10 overs was the other wicket taker as Catani were all out in the 55th over.
Officer then batted for 21 overs and was 6/62 off 21 overs.
Shaun Marchetti hit 27 with two fours.
Officer was 4/48 at stumps with Glen Longmuir making 13 and Ben Baxter six.
Brett Reid is four not out and Daniel Savage two not out.

C GRADE

Officer bowled first with Catani’s final score being 9/178.
Tom Bulenok took 3/30 in an excellent spell of swing bowling. David Batchelor was unlucky not to get a wicket and fielded superbly. Matt Cooper took 2/23 with both wickets being bowled and Tony Smith 1/21.
James Quinn also bowled very tightly without a lot of luck and had 1/33 from 20 overs.
Wayne Danks had 0/25 in an accurate spell and fielded and threw accurately. Paul Simon took 1/16 off 11 overs and the team fielded well all day.

E GRADE

Officer was undermanned against Devon Meadows and fielded all day with the opposition making 243.
For Officer, Daryl Timms lead the way with 3/47 from 18 overs with the new ball.
Peter Quigley bowled a good line to take 3/38 off 12 overs. Tim McGrath took 2/81 and Martin Beaumont 1/2 in one over.
Officer was 0/2 at stumps with Ross Harris two not out.

F GRADE

Officer lost by only five runs against Merinda Park.
Bowling first, Officer dismissed Merinda Park for 95. Rob Burns took 2/17 off six overs with Andrew Stephenson 2/18 in his six overs.
David Coldebella was very accurate with 1/9 in six overs and also topscored with 25 to complete a good allround game.
Adam Cooke was 15 not out and Rob Burns 12, but with eight overs left to bat, Officer was all out for 90 in a disappointing game it should have won after a good bowling and fielding performance.

UNDER 17

Officer fought back well against Nyora with the score at one stage 2/90, but eventually all out for 149.
Andrew Crew bowled superbly to take 5/29, by far his best figures for the club in a great spell of bowling. Matt Cooper took 1/20 and fielded well, as did the other players.

UNDER 15

Officer played Emerald and bowled it out for 77.
For Officer, Nathan Carruthers took 1/4 off three overs, Tom Marks 1/14, Nick Martin 1/9 and a catch and two catches to Tom Marks and Ben Martin 1/4 in four overs.
Officer was 2/25 in reply in what will be a tight finish.
