Publicly listed property group, Devine, is set to strengthen its influence in Victoria with a $50million residential estate at Pakenham.
The 20hectare ‘Orchard Valley’ will provide 180 lots, ranging in size from 320 square metres to 600 square metres, on which Devine will offer a choice of 30 styles of homes.
Devine is rapidly expanding in Victoria, with 10 housing estates underway, as well as the $314million ‘Victoria Point’ tower at Docklands.
This strikinglooking 42level building, which contains apartments, serviced apartments and commercial suites, will be completed by March, next year.
The national general manager of Devine’s housing and land division, Paul Nash, said he had great faith in the Melbourne property market and his company would continue to source development sites.
‘Orchard Valley’, in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges on the fringe of Melbourne’s southern growth corridor, will have bike tracks, reserves and water features to ensure a tranquil environment.
It should appeal to Melburnians looking for a less hectic lifestyle that is still within easy access of Melbourne.
While no firm prices have been released, the houseandland packages will be aimed at first and second homebuyers and are expected to start from just $230,000, including landscaping.
Devine’s Victorian manager, Sean Lefoe said work on the estate was scheduled to begin in September.
“Along with the infrastructure we will be building three display homes,” he said.
“We expect these homes to be completed by March and will set the quality standard for the estate,” he said.
The detached dwellings are designed to suit a diverse range of residents, from young growing families through to retired couples.
The mixture of housing types and sizes will provide a high level of liveability and encourage interaction among residents and foster a community spirit.
Mr Lefoe said the estate was close to schools, sporting facilities and public amenities.
“The Pakenham region is expanding rapidly and there is an excellent freeway and train service that allows commuting to the Melbourne CBD within 40 minutes,” he said.
