A spring in their step

SPRING racing fever is spilling out from the Cranbourne Turf Club to Berwick as the Berwick Village Chamber of Commerce prepares for its Spring Carnival Ball.
The ball is a joint venture between the turf club and the chamber and will be held in the Berwick Bowling Club on Saturday (7 October).
It is part of the chamber’s 50 years celebration and will also provide a build up in the district to the Cranbourne Cup on Sunday, 15 October.
Individual bookings can be made at the Ticketmaster desk, Amcal Pharmacy, High Street, Berwick.
Tickets are $100 each and selling well with part proceeds going to the Riding for the Disabled Victoria.
Dress is Derby Day or formal and a competition for the bestdressed couple will be held.
Men must wear a tie.
