AFTER a tight first quarter, Berwick Netball Club’s Agrade team went on a scoring spree, downing Dingley by 43 goals on Saturday.
The team played steady and controlled netball and created many turnovers from the defensive efforts of Jodie Cranston, Sharon Neary and Mishelle MansonBlair.
The attackers fed well into the goalers who shot accurately.
Scores: Berwick 83 d Dingley 40.
B GRADE
Berwick played an excellent game against top team Dingley, going down by one goal.
Defenders Rebecca Vickers and Emma Ray were outstanding, causing many turnovers from the pressure applied in the goal circle and the goalers worked hard to score from these turnovers.
Jess Monahan played a superb game in centre, creating strong drives down the court.
Scores: Dingley 49 d Berwick 48.
C GRADE
Berwick displayed great skill and control of the ball in a thrilling match against Dingley, winning by 18 goals.
The team applied strong defensive pressure all day, cutting off Dingley’s drive into the attacking third. Corrine Mackley, Alana Carey and Rebecca Stanley all played well in defence with Sharon McCormack and Tina Pratt controlling the midcourt.
Nicole Liddle and Glenda Clarke capitalised on the turnovers.
