Business plans shattered

By Melissa Grant
A PAKENHAM businesswoman is angry after discovering a dumpster lodged through her shop window yesterday morning.
Rosina Grasso, of Anisor Counselling Service, arrived at work about 9.15am yesterday only to find her shopfront window in pieces after vandals managed to push a large dumpster straight through it.
Ms Grasso was forced to cancel all her scheduled appointments for Tuesday, the extent of the damage making it impossible to use the Treloar Lane building.
“The damage is so bad that I can no longer open the front door,” she said.
“About a quarter of the glass is still hanging there so it is too dangerous for clients to come in.”
Ms Grasso said nothing appeared to be taken from the premises , but she was upset not just for herself but also for her clients.
“There is a real need for this service in the community, and in the end it’s the public that is going to suffer for someone else’s boredom,” she said.
The damage will also put a dent in Ms Grasso’s budget, the insurance only covering the glass and not the signage in the window.
“The insurance won’t pay for the signage which was done three weeks ago when we opened, so I will be $550 out of pocket,” she said.
Youths were seen running through the area on Monday night.
Police are investigating.
