Citizen of the year

NOMINATIONS are open for the City of Casey citizen of the year awards.
Casey mayor Neil Lucas said nominating an individual or group recognised and celebrated outstanding efforts to make a positive difference to our community.
Nominations are open for five categories, citizen, young citizen, senior citizen, nonresident and community event of the year.
Cr Lucas said it could be your helpful neighbour, or a terrific fundraiser, a local legend, or the best community event you’ve been to this year.
A community panel will consider the nominations.
All nominees will be recognised and winners announced at a special ceremony on Australia Day, Thursday, 26 January.
Nominations for individual awards close at 5pm on Friday, 25 November and for the Casey community event of the year award at 5pm on Friday, 6 January.
