DOG attacks in Cardinia Shire were on the rise albeit only slightly during the past financial year.
Figures released by council on Monday showed the total number of reported attacks in 200405 to be 56, up by five from the previous 12month period.
However, dog complaints dropped from 819 to 598 during the same time frame.
Council officers said this represented a 37 per cent reduction in complaints.
