Gorozidis shows Wickers the way

GEORGE Gorozidis led Berwick to a big victory at Dingley on Saturday.
Playing on the forward flank, the veteran had 33 possessions (18 kicks, 15 handballs), 18 marks and three goals.
The fact that he gave Ryan Donaldson up to 10 of his 14 goals through handballs or short passes will not be seen in statistics or history books.
The Wickers started brilliantly, kicking 10 goals in the first quarter.
Andrew Tuck played well in the back half, as did Ainsley Betts, whose brother Kirk was in great form.
Dan O’Hara is improving with each game and is regaining some of the form that gained him selection in the team of the year last year.
Ronnie Burns, John McNamara, Adam Mott, Chris Mizzi and Matty Fowler all were in top form for the Wickers.
Mark McLean was also a great contributor.
The Wickers ran out easy winners but the Dingoes showed determination and dedication to kick four lastquarter goals to the visitors’ six. The Wickers won by 167 points.
Scores: Berwick 33.18.216 d Dingley 6.13.49.
Goals: R. Donaldson 14, K. Betts 4, G. Gorozidis, J. Kickett 3, C. Kickett, A. Mott 2, R. Nisbet, J. McNamara, T. Joustra, R. Burns, D. O’Hara 1.
Best: G. Gorozidis, R. Donaldson, A. Mott, M. McLean, K. Betts.
