Kooweerup wins big for Ingram

KADE Ingram’s 200th senior appearance brought a 108point victory for Kooweerup over Cora Lynn.
A ninegoal first term against a strong breeze set the pattern for the day. In a generally even performance the form of giant ruckman Adam Biszko stood out as he controlled the air and went forward several times to finish with three goals, though forced by ruck partner Adam Bertuna’s injury to ruck all day on the big ground.
Rhys Morgan, who finished with six goals, was inspirational and his older brother Ross provided the early spark. Burly forward Brett Hobson finished with five goals, continuing his good progress after injury and a spread of 10 goalkickers for the day showed the Demons’ dominance. Coach Peter Bastinac, although slightly displeased with the third quarter, was overall quite pleased with the effort but warned against complacency as the Demons have three hard games to finish the homeandaway season.
Scores: Kooweerup 28.16.184 d Cora Lynn 11.10.76.

RESERVES

Although getting away to a good start the Cobras had to battle hard all day to keep out a determined Cora Lynn and in the end the threepoint victory bought a smile to players’ faces. Wasted opportunities and poor kicking and decisionmaking made for a close tussle. Luke Hamilton continued his good form to be named best and Matt Feltham and Mick Lenders played well through the midfield. New father Mark Byrne finished with two goals from limited opportunities.
Scores: Kooweerup 8.4.52 d Cora Lynn 7.7.49.

UNDER 17

Kooweerup was always in control of the match against Cora Lynn after several Demon players swapped jumpers to play with a Cobras team short of numbers.
Kooweerup was determined from the first bounce and all kicking was long and direct.
Scores: Kooweerup 16.9.105 d Cora Lynn 3.5.23.

UNDER 13

Kooweerup was determined on three wins in a row and took control from the start.
Kicking into the wind in the first quarter didn’t stop the young Demons from taking a lead of 25 points into the second quarter.
The Demons’ forwards and backs were switched for the second quarter and still increased the lead to 43 points at halftime.
The young Demons ran out winners by 81 points.
Scores: Kooweerup 13.10.88 d Cora Lynn 0.1.1.
