Lang Lang bats it out after fast start

LANG Lang’s C-grade batsmen have set Devon Meadows a 218 run chase after a good performance by the lower order on Saturday.
Lang Lang travelled to Devon Meadows, was sent into bat and got off to a quick start.
Brian Christensen did the bulk of scoring for the first wicket and was dismissed for 23 with the score on 24.
When fellow opener Sean Hassett was dismissed for 21 and sparked a mini collapse in the middle order.Kurt Nestor was out for six and Sean Lambie didn’t bother the scorers this week.
That put Mark Hutchison and captain, Ian Creasey at the crease.
The two batted well and made sure Lang Lang would have something to defend. Creasey made 28 and Hutchison made 38.
More runs were needed by Lang Lang to make a large total and Cam Chasemore came out at number eight and joined Al Jenkins.
Jenkins was out lbw for eight, then Phil Soane was bowled after making some quick and valuable runs.
Chasemore was joined by youngster Chris McCurdy and the two took the challenge to the Devon Meadow’s bowlers.
Both of them batted well and put value on their wicket, ensuring Lang Lang passed the 200 mark.
Chasemore was bowled on 49 and it was a good innings from the lower-order batsmen.
Chris McCurdy was again not out for a good 28 with him was Sam Bethune.

D GRADE

Lang Lang hosted Emerald for its round-six match, batted first and wickets fell often.
Ricky Caddell was the top scorer, making 26, and was well supported by Aaron Creasey who made 18.
Lang Lang was dismissed for 79 and then in the field got six wickets.
Ash Turner was the best wicket taker with three, Steve Head, in his return match, got four catches.
