MICK McManus, with an excellent three-round total of 222, won the men’s club championship at Pakenham Golf Club on Saturday.
The final round was played in perfect weather and the course was in superb condition, with one of the highlights being George Wheeler’s hole in one on the eighth.
Tym Davey took out B Grade with 267.
The C-grade champion was Neil De Silva with 265 and D grade was won by Neil Helfrich with 282.
The veterans’ champion was Noel Bonne with 252 and Tym Davey took out the junior champion.
The Ampol Shield for the handicap winner went to Michael Hildebrand
The day competition and December monthly medal was won by John Naoum with 64.
Gary Westwick with 60 was the A-grade winner and Neil Helfrich the C-grade winner with 68.
The monthly medal was sponsored by K & S Waste.
Nearest the pin went to Dan Cameron on the golf shop second hole and Michael Hildebrand took out the Pakenham Subway fifth hole.
George Wheeler not only received a trophy but took home the Dante’s Wood-fired Pizza prize as well for his hole in one.
The Hungry Jack’s 14th hole went to John Roberts and the Pakenham Pizza 16th hole saw Mark Hatton the winner.
The B.M.R. Autos second shot on the sixth went to Noel Bonne and the second shot on the 11th saw Jason McQualter the winner.
The B.M.R. Autos longest drive in A grade went to Mick McManus and the B grade to Brett Hume.
The McIntyre Painting C-grade longest drive went to Neil Helfrich.

Michael Hildebrand had a birdie on the fifth hole to win a ball.
Noel Bonne and George Wheeler both had an eagles, Noel on the sixth and George on the eighth. They take home a ball each, as the ‘nest’ was only 2 balls. Spalding was thanked for its support of the Eagles Nest.
Raffle winners were Cliff Pain and Graeme Mack.
Super competition winners were John Noaum first, Michael Hildebrand second and John Roberts third.

MONDAY RESULTS
The morning players competed in a Par competition.
Bob Morrison was the winner with +5 from Brian Doherty with +3.
Down-the-line winners were Brian Bateup +3, Eric Butcher +2, Tym Davey +2, James Logan +1, Denby Coggan +1 and Jack Munro +1.
Nearest the pin on the eighth went to Doug Booth and the 14th to Chris Peeters.
WEDNESDAY RESULTS
Tony Vallance was the winner with 42 Stableford points. Leo Cester was close behind with 41 points.
Malcolm Clay, Ron Miller, Al Campbell, Ian Graham, and Alex Green all came in with 40 points followed by Cliff Pain, Stojko Kresojevic, Dan Cameron, Rory Sutton and Peter Eaton all on 39.
Ron Seamer was the winner of the nearest the pin on the second hole and Michael Otene took out the eighth.
TWILIGHT COMPETITION
More than 100 players took part, hitting off on both the first and 10th holes.
Social winner was Dave McDonald coming in with 18 points.
Those looking for a relaxing nine holes of golf are invited to twilight golf on Wednesdays. Hit off is between 3pm and 6pm and players do not have to have a handicap to play.

The winner was David Jack with 24 points from Michael Hildebrand with 21.

SUNDAY COMPETITION
This attracted 23 players with Matt Yusoff coming in with 40 points to win from Neil Mani and Anil Prakash both with 38 points.
LADIES
There was great excitement on Sunday when one of Pakenham’s junior girls had a great win at Traralgon in the West Gippsland Girls Championships.
Elly Briggs came in with 69 and broke her handicap to win the handicap division.
The name of the game last Thursday for the ladies was four-ball-best-ball Par.
Winners were Helen Aurish and Marg Andrews with an excellent score of +10. Lorraine Molnar and Norma Robertson were close behind with +9 to be the runners-up.
Down the lines went to Rena Bueler/Toni Owen +8, Lynn Murray/Aileen Fromhold +7, Maria Warburton/Liz Garvey +7 and Val Carroll/Adele Mahony +6.
Nearest the pins went to Marg Blake on the eighth hole and Marg Turner on the 14th.
Presentation Day will be held next Thursday after nine holes of golf.
There will be a ball competition on a Thursday morning during January.
Hit off will be from 8am to 8.30am.
All players must report to the golf shop by 8.15am and the Summer Cup starts in February.
