IN results for Pakenham Bowls Club last week, Pakenham (1) lost to Berwick by 18 shots. First and second on the ladder, these teams produced a lacklustre contest with many loose bowls, Pakenham winning one rink.
Scores: J. Power’s team 29/23, G. Dore’s team 21/25, I. Wake’s team 18/28, J. Barr’s team 17/27.
Pakenham (2) drew with Noble Park 83/83. After 100 ends of thrilling bowls, two rinks apiece, Noble Park and Pakenham shared the points. Scores: N. Box’s team 17/28, C. Green’s team 27/15, N. Buckley’s team 23/18, E. Gibb’s team 16/22.
Pakenham (3) lost to Cranbourne RSL, 40 shots down. The players will blame the synthetic green but this can only be described as another disappointing display. Scores: L. Brown’s team 19/35, B. Byrne’s team 15/29, B. Dawson’s team 18/22, K. Tomlin’s team 19/25.
Pakenham (4) defeated Noble Park 17 shots up, collecting 16 valuable points as the reward for the fours but will meet stronger teams in further rounds. Scores: P. Chamblin’s team 23/21, W. Rose’s team 21/25, J. Wilbert’s team 35/18, J. Telford’s team 26/23.
Glen Eira-McKinnon failed to field a side and Pakenham collected another 15 shots plus points to hold second spot.
On Sunday 32 players started their campaign to become 2005-06 club singles champion.
Winners of the Ray White-sponsored day on Sunday were: Darcy White, Graeme McQualter and Wendy Titcombe. Runners-up were Sam Mazzarella, Stan Athans and Bert Dawson.

Round six results: Pakenham (1) v Karingal at Pakenham. T. Brown’s team 19-22, L. Stephenson 21-21, W. Titcombe 14-29, J. Thompson 15-23. A loss overall of 24 shots.
Pakenham (2) v Karingal at Karingal. L. Mashado’s team 28-17, T. Harron 26-23, P. Carlin 45-15. A win overall of 44 shots.
Pakenham (3) v Mornington Civic at Pakenham. D. Backman’s team 17-31, U. Eagle 42-7. A win overall of 21 shots.

CLUB NOTES

In the raffle drawn on Friday a set of bowls was won by Ada Cuciniello, a bowls bag by Norm Joseph and a $50 voucher by Fred Ritchie.
The Christmas party is on 9 December and places were filling fast.
Mixed Triples starts tomorrow at noon.
On Friday there will be Twilight Bowls and a roast dinner at 6pm. Carpet bowls are still available for non-twilight bowlers. Names must be down on the dinner list by 2pm Friday.
On Saturday will be RVBA Pennant round 11 and the draw is: Pakenham (1) v Ferntree Gully. Waverley Golf v Pakenham (2). Pakenham (3) v Noble Park (4). Bye Pakenham (4). Clayton (6) v Pakenham (5).
On Sunday, Legacy Day, dress is whites.
On Tuesday, 6 December will be PDLBA Pennant round eight and the draw is: Long Island v Pakenham (1). Pakenham (2) v Mt Eliza. Pakenham (3) v Seaford.
