Presidential win at Pakenham

THE president’s team came out winners over the captain’s team in the Stableford event at Pakenham Golf Club on Saturday.
The traditional event is held annually and sees the full men’s field divided into the two teams and the winner decided on the combined scores.
The individual winner of the day was Andrew Trivett with 38 points.
The Agrade winner was Bret Mottrom with 36 and C grade went to Cameron McGregor with 35 points.
Down the lines saw Graeme Boyd 37, Angie Peluso 37, Geoff Percival 36, Tom McDermott 36, Gary Westwick 35, Don Callen 35, Wayne Lamers 35, Gary Brand 35, Colin Crowle 34, Dan Cameron 34, Brian Webster 34, Tony Vallance 34, Frank Leontini, Russell Slobodiuk, Stan Gilbert, Rick Gibbs, Brett Hume, Wayne Caffyn and Rex Jobling all on 33 the winners.
The A grade B.M.R. Autos longest drive went to George Savkov. Peter Blackwell won the Bgrade longest drive and the McIntyre Painting Cgrade longest drive saw Cameron McGregor the winner.
Nearest the pin on the golf shop second hole went to Ken Briggs, the Pakenham Subway fifth hole saw Scott Findlay the winner and the Dante’s Woodfired Pizza eighth hole went to Gary Westwick.
Dale Harrison was the winner of the Hungry Jack’s 14th hole and the Pakenham Pizza 16th hole saw Scott Phillips the winner.
The B.M.R. Autos second shot on the sixth hole went to David Horne.
Geoff Percival and Frank Morris were the raffle winners.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

This will be held on Thursday, 1 September at 7.30 pm.
Nominations are now open for the board of management and subcommittees.
Forms can be found on the shelf below the noticeboard in the clubhouse.
All members are urged to attend.

MONDAY COMPETITION

The morning competition was cancelled due to the wet weather.

WEDNESDAY COMPETITION

This was a fourballbestball competition and the winners were Don Dalgleish and Rob Christie with plus11. Kevin Wraight and Stan Gilbert were runnersup with plus10.
Down the Lines went to Angie Peluso/Rod Cameron plus9, Graeme Steel/Ray Hewitt plus9, Ron Miller/Bert Burniston plus8, Dan Cameron/Stojko Kresojevic plus8 and Ian Shennan/Chris Underwood plus8.
Nearest the pin on the eighth hole went to Ron Carroll and the 14th hole was won by Cliff Pain.

LADIES

The ladies annual general meeting is this Thursday, 25 September, therefore the competition on Thursday will only be nine holes.
Last Thursday saw a fourballbestball challenge played in conjunction with the Phyl Munn Memorial event.
Winners were Kath Duggan and Maree Stephenson with 43 points from Marg Andrews and Loretta Stewart with 38 points on a countback.
The best nine holes went to Joyce Garton and Fay Barnes with 23 points
Nearest the pin on the second hole went to Shirley Tharle, Libby De Hey won the eighth hole and the 14th went to Shirley Roberts.
Down the lines saw Val Carroll/Jenny Bayard 38, Lyn Avent/Adele Mahony 39, Norma Robertson/Jan Gibb 37 and Norah/Marg Blake 37.
