Residents can keep on track

RESIDENTS interested in learning more about development issues affecting Cardinia’s railway towns are invited to attend a community meeting.
Bunyip Ward councillor Bill Pearson and Cardinia Shire Council’s strategic planning manager strategic planning Philip Walton will address the meeting, which will be held on 28 March.
Cr Pearson encouraged residents of railway towns to come along and learn more about local development issues.
He said matters to be discussed would include the effects of the Melbourne 2030 Strategy, the Pakenham Bypass, town strategies for Bunyip and Garfield and plans to retain the rural identity of Cardinia’s historic railway towns.
“The meeting will give residents the opportunity to ask questions and voice their opinions and council will take into consideration any of the issues raised by residents at this meeting when finalising strategies and policies,” Cr Pearson said.
“I, like many other local residents, appreciate and enjoy the tranquillity of living in this beautiful part of Gippsland and that is why it is so important that we do everything we can to preserve the rural feel.”
The meeting, which starts at 7.30pm, will be held at the Bunyip hall in Main Street.
