BERWICK RSL will receive $7000 from the State Government for the restoration of the war memorial in High Street, Berwick.
Nar Nar Goon’s war memorial is also expected to receive a share of funds.
The grants were announced last week by Gembrook MP Tammy Lobato.
“I attended the Anzac Day service in Berwick earlier this year, and the massive crowd that attended indicated that people from across the community value the meaning of Anzac Day.
“Our war memorials play an important part in those commemorative services.
“Berwick war memorial has played a crucial role over the years and is an integral part of the Berwick Village area.
“Many local people have links with this memorial, and restoration funding will ensure that the link will be maintained for future generations,” Ms Lobato said.
