WELL known West Gippsland cricket personalities were among guests at the official launch of Ian Ferguson’s latest book at a Melbourne restaurant early this month.
Ferguson, who has been the Pakenham Gazette’s cricket writer for the past six seasons, previously authored or coauthored four other cricket books and has written for other regional newspapers and national sporting magazines.
His new book, titled A Tickle To Silly Leg, is a dictionary of cricket humour and autographed copies are available at Pakenham Newsagency and Pakenham Bookshop. West Gippsland cricket clubs will also be given the opportunity to obtain the book at a discount price to distribute among club members.
Among local identities at the launch were WGCA chairman Bob Taylor, association secretary Jeff Wallace, deputy chairman Paul Simon and West Gippsland cricket radio host Rob Hansen.
Martin Blake, Les Glover, Peter Deveney and Jeff Wallace are among local cricket followers who provided stories for the book, which is being promoted for Father’s Day.
