I WOULD like to encourage all residents in Cardinia and Casey to participate in Getting Involved Program – a $4.5 million initiative by the Bracks Government, involving more than 500 events statewide to mark the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
Included in this program is the Warming-up for the Games Day on 20 November, when both councils will host State Government-funded community events.
The emphasis in the Getting Involved Program is to ensure there is community participation at all levels.
Casey will run a Physical Activity Day at Lysterfield Lake Park, which is also the venue for the Commonwealth Games mountain bike events.
Cardinia will conduct four relays across the shire, which will converge on Pakenham and culminate in a range of sports activities around the Cardinia Cultural Centre.

Gembrook MP.
