U16s switched off by lightning

THE GembrookCockatoo under16 match against Monbulk had to be called off due to lightning, but the under14 match brought the young Brookers a good win.

UNDER 14

Against Monbulk away, Gembrook played its best game of shepherding all season. The first half was close as the eagerness to win was obvious.
In the third quarter the Brookers came out stronger, giving themselves a fivegoal lead. Two more goals in the last quarter sealed the match.
Scores: GembrookCockatoo 11.9.75 d Monbulk 4.4.28.
Awards: Player of the match Caleb Scott, Senior club achievement award Marcus Cooper, Hungry Jack’s Adan Moody, Loaded Pizza Kayden Burgess, Cockatoo General Store Riley Wilson, Kaya Hairdressing Nick Hendrikx, McDonald’s David Cracknell.

UNDER 13

In heavy conditions the Brookers played Emerald at Monbulk. After making steady improvement over the past few weeks, the Brookers had their worst game of the year.
Scores: GembrookCockatoo 0.3.3 lost to Emerald 7.4.46.

Awards: Player of the match Nathan Wheldon, Senior club achievement Callum Thoms, Hungry Jack’s Max Jorgensen, Loaded Pizza Tom Faulkner, Cockatoo General Store Liam O’Sullivan, McDonald’s Jake Morris.

UNDER 12

The Brookers had a disappointing loss despite a real chance to contend for a finals spot. In a determined team effort the Brookers gave themselves plenty of chances by hard work and through creating options. Lots of running makes a hard competition of the game. Matt McLennan and Ben Turner scored good goals.
Scores: GembrookCockatoo 2.8.20 lost to Monbulk 3.4.22.
Best: Jamie Kennedy, Ryan Crowley, Harley Pope, Cass Retzack, Brayden Hamilton, Aaron Turner.
Awards: Player of the match Jamie Kennedy, Senior club achievement Shaun Mills, Hungry Jack’s Matthew McLennan, Loaded Pizza Ryan Crowley, Cockatoo General Store Brayden Hamilton.

UNDER 11

Despite a great team display the Brookers didn’t manage to score against the top side Emerald. The team displayed great skills and, overall, great effort.
Scores: GembrookCockatoo 0.0.0 lost to Emerald 6.10.46.
Best: Cael Hannah, Jakob Berry, Chris Osmond, Daniel Welsh, Liam Purdon, Tomas Peachey.
Awards: Player of the match Jakob Berry, Senior club achievement Tomas Peachey, Hungry Jack’s Jacob Bartley, Loaded Pizza Zac Epstein, Cockatoo General Store Ben Turner.

UNDER 10

The Brookers had a tough game with probably more stoppages than any other game played this year. Although some of the players were sick, there was only two points in the match all day and Gembrook could have gone on to kick a much bigger score. Everyone pitched in and fought the match out in a good game that was hard slog for both sides.
Awards: Player of the match Scott Henderson, Senior club achievement Stephen Lopez, Hungry Jack’s Paul Fitzgerald, Loaded Pizza Zack Rozenboom, Cockatoo General Store Dylan Asling, Canteen Chris McDonald and Joel Jensen.
