A MORNING speed trap last Wednesday has caught two people driving at excessive speed on the Princes Highway in Officer.
Sergeant Peter Garton of the Pakenham Traffic Management Unit said a 25yearold woman from Pakenham was caught at 121km/h in an 80km/h zone at 5.47am.
Sgt Garton said the woman’s excuse for driving at 40km over the limit was that she was tired and wanted to get home to sleep. She had her licence suspended for six months, was fined $387 and lost six demerit points.
About 20 minutes later a 30yearold Sydenham woman was caught doing 135km/h in an 80 zone. She was fined $462, had her licence suspended for 12 months and lost eight demerits points.
