Youth in from the cold

CARDINIA and Casey councils have each received $19,450 for their FReeZA programs.
Gembrook MP Tammy Lobato said Cardinia would establish a new FReeZA youth committee to organise drugfree and alcoholfree events in the area under the banner of Electric Productions.
She said that Casey’s FReeZA Youth Committee would continue to plan, coordinate and facilitate a variety of music and cultural events for young people from across the municipality through Spectrum Entertainment.
Ms Lobato said the State Government’s FReeZA program provided funding for drugfree and alcoholfree music and cultural events catering for young people from 12 to 25 years of age.
“The grants will encourage young people to attend and perform at safe music events.
“Young people have the opportunity to also join a FReeZA committee and become involved in all aspects of organising FReeZA events,” she said.
“This year FReeZA provided more than 168,000 young people with an opportunity to become involved in safe and fun entertainment for young people.”
