Beaconsfield wins close games

BEACONSFIELD did well against Dingley at the weekend, having three senior wins from close matches.

A GRADE

Beaconsfield went into the match full of confidence after great wins in previous weeks. Dingley however, proved to be a tough opposition, making Beaconsfield earn every goal. The defenders combined well to turn the ball over, however, the centre court and goalers found it hard to find space in a crowded attack end, but did well to win. Beaconsfield now has a couple of weeks off due to byes against Doveton and Keysborough.
Scores: Beaconsfield 60 d Dingley 51.

B GRADE

Another great team effort resulted in a thrilling win over the previously undefeated Dingley. The lead changed many times, the teams going goalforgoal. The Beaconsfield defenders did a fine job to create many turnovers against tall and accurate goalers, while the centre court was patient and methodical in working the ball down the court. The Beaconsfield goalers, including Lauren Carey in her first Beacy game, combined beautifully, making the most of opportunities. During the last quarter Beaconsfield showed great fighting spirit by coming from three goals down with only minutes left to win.
Scores: Beaconsfield 50 d Dingley 48.

C GRADE

Top side Dingley played thirdplaced Beaconsfield and the game lived up to all expectations. Both teams came out fighting hard and the first half was even due to the skills displayed and accurate shooting. In the third quarter Beaconsfield started well, breaking many of Dingley’s centres and looking to break away. However Dingley fought back hard and led by three goals going into the final quarter. Beaconsfield came out in the final quarter pumped up to win, fought hard and came back to win by one goal in an exciting finish.
Scores: Beaconsfield 31 d Dingley 30.
