Berwick fights it out

BERWICK Netball Club’s Agrade team fought hard against a strong Tooradin side, going down by 28 goals on Saturday.
The team played passages of great netball, but was unable to match up against Tooradin.
Scores: Tooradin 62 d Berwick 34.

B GRADE

After a good win the week before Berwick didn’t play its usual attacking netball against Tooradin.
The first quarter was an even contest with only a goal difference.
Tooradin broke away in the second quarter, but to the team’s credit, Berwick fought back in the third quarter to get within six goals.
Scores: Berwick 32 lost to Tooradin 45.

C GRADE

In a close and entertaining game, Berwick went down to Tooradin by three goals.
Berwick started well with Julie Williams and Michelle Rousetty goaling accurately.
Lynda Viney and Rebecca Stanley were solid in defence, while Sharon Liversly, Lee Safin and Carly Feltham worked the ball down the court to the goalers.
Berwick put in four consistent quarters of disciplined netball and played an excellent game.
Scores: Berwick 31 lost to Tooradin 34.

15 AND UNDER

Berwick took on a very strong Tooradin team on Saturday and some excellent netball in the first half to be level at half time.
The team attacked hard down the court, providing scoring opportunities for the goalers Roxy Thompson and Alyce Shearman.
After the halftime break, Tooradin took charge and Berwick was unable to close in on its lead.
Scores: Berwick 24 lost to Tooradin 39.

13 AND UNDER

Tooradin proved to be too strong for Berwick.
Although losing the first three quarters, Berwick fought back to win the last term and reduce the final margin to just eight goals.
This week’s game against Pakenham will see Berwick fight for a place in the finals.
Scores: Berwick 16 lost to Tooradin 24.
