GEMBROOK MP Tammy Lobato wants people to eat out to help the homeless.
Ms Lobato is backing the StreetSmart campaign through the “Big Dine Out” initiative to raise money for homeless people.
She said the appeal gave diners at participating restaurants the opportunity to support the homeless by giving $2 a table at the end of the meal.
Ambrosia, in Berwick, is one of the eateries backing the plan during the StreetSmart campaign, which this year runs until Saturday, 24 December.
StreetSmart is a non-profit organisation that raises funds for worthwhile community organisations which directly help homeless people.
The proceeds go directly towards support services, and no donations are used for administration, which is funded by sponsorship.
“This means donors can be assured that all money raised is providing food, shelter, clothes, emergency assistance and other essential services that are so needed by the homeless,” Ms Lobato said.
Dine out to spread some cheer
