RAIL services will be suspended between Pakenham and Traralgon while works continue on the Latrobe Valley Fast Rail project.
Regional Rail Link (RRL) will start the final phase of construction on the Latrobe Valley corridor this Friday, building on more than 60 kilometres of track upgrades undertaken two years ago.
The works will require the suspension of rail services between Pakenham and Traralgon for several months.
Works are expected to be completed by mid2006, then a period of testing and driver training will begin.
Coaches will replace all rail services between Pakenham and Bairnsdale, with VLine trains still running between Pakenham and Melbourne.
